Freeing Ourselves from Suffering

What Causes Suffering

Fearful perceptions with adjoining emotions when triggered can arise in the body and mind and this can be very uncomfortable and difficult. It can present itself as anxiety, sadness, upset and anger. These reactive feelings can be deeply conditioned. We want to prevent these reactive feelings from totally clouding our minds. There is a way of transforming these energetic reactions and allow them to pass away. If not it could infect our relationship with ourselves and with others. It could radiate around us and others can sense it. They are feelings that are coming up in our inner energy field (chakras) that have been habitual and covered over for many yrs in the body and mind by fearful ways of looking and reacting.

What Prevents Us From Freeing Ourselves

Two obstacles to this freedom that we feel when we release fearful perceptions and emotions are:

1. We believe the fearful reaction is us. Ex: I am hurt, anxious, afraid. Of course this isn’t true. We name the reactionary energy in our body and label them and we blame external circumstances. This is my energetic experience of upset for example. And then we have a past victim story and attachment to the way we perceive what we are experiencing. They explain why we feel the way we feel. That’s why they feel so strong and difficult to let go. Another reason why these egoic reactions are so challenging is because we have a distaste or aversion to them. We just don’t want to feel that way. These hurtful reactions have their own energetic power. In actuality, we are (experiencing, witnessing, observing, watching) the feeling that is occurring [we are not the feeling (sensation)]. We are seeing it arising, dwelling, and passing away. It is like an ocean wave: arising, dwelling and fading away. These upsets, by the way, occur when something happens that we don’t want or something we wanted doesn’t happen. It doesn’t matter what the trigger is. So how can we change the way we relate to the experience of the ego?

What Can We do to Let Go of Suffering?

We can let go of suffering by having a spacious and kind relationship with it and accept it as it is. We are not the victim of the way we see and react to what we see. We can develop a non-reactive and gentle way to release these reactionary fearful ways of interpreting and feeling. We can (witness, observe, be aware) of the emotional energy and release them from our chakras. You can be the spacious awareness that is allowing them to be and pass away.

What Will Kundalini Yoga Offer You?

Kundalini Yoga helps you to be: the witness, the observer, the watcher of the energetic feeling in the chakras (inner energy fields of the body). You will be taught the tools to liberate yourself and clear your inner energy field. You will have the courage and confidence to gently remove the patterns of thinking with accompanying reactionary feelings. You will learn the important skills to seeing when and where these feelings arise in the chakras and how to just rest with the feeling (sit with it and giving it the space to be). With the art of Kundalini Yoga you will be able to untangle the emotional energy from the thoughts and allow it to fade away by witnessing it’s arising, and passing away. You will put the power in your hands not in the difficult emotion or the outside circumstance.
